You can browse our team profiles to find a licensed therapist who feels like a good match, or reach out with a few lines about what you're looking for. We'll help pair you with a Registered Clinical Counsellor or Registered Social Worker who suits your needs and style for your mental health care.
Click "Book a Free Consult" and select a time that works for you. You'll receive an intake form if you want to share details about your mental health concerns, but you don't have to if it doesn't feel right. This initial session helps establish therapy goals.
It's low pressure, no strings attached, just a chance to see if the therapeutic relationship feels right and you feel safe. The call is a relaxed 15 to 20-minute chat where you can share what mental health challenges you're looking for support with, hear how we provide services, and get a feel for the therapist's style.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and we get it. That's completely normal. You don't need to have everything figured out about your feelings or life challenges. Just bring yourself, as you are. That's enough to begin your healing journey with our non-judgmental approach.
We offer individual therapy and mental health services to clients aged 12 and up, including young people and young adults. Our therapists tailor their approach to be developmentally appropriate for teens, individual adults, and seniors. Our registered clinical counsellors have extensive training to support well-being across all life stages.
Yes, we offer online therapy and online counselling through secure live sessions for clients throughout British Columbia, as well as in-person therapy at our Squamish location. Our therapists offer both options to help you access therapy in the way that works best for your mental health and well-being.
Most clients start with weekly sessions, although we can adjust the frequency to suit your mental health needs and schedule. Some people prefer biweekly sessions, while others might benefit from more intensive support initially as they work through depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, or life transitions.
We generally work with clients on the medium to long term (10 sessions and upwards) in our practice. This often involves a period of "arriving" into counselling where you get used to the process, establish areas of mental health concerns and develop therapy goals.
Then we move into "the work," where we explore the challenges you're facing to find new insights and understanding for healing. Finally, we prepare to "close" the therapeutic period by reflecting on your experience while establishing confidence and independence to continue your journey.
Our Mental Health Services
Depending on where you're at and what support you need for your mental health, therapy can provide:
-
Validation and support for the hard challenges in life
-
Reflection and reframing, like a magic mirror, help you see your relationships and feelings more clearly
-
Gentle (or kind but firm) challenge to shift patterns that no longer serve your well-being

Our therapists have extensive training in various approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, and talk therapy methods. Our registered clinical counsellor and registered social worker team use trauma-informed approaches, including clinical counselling and EMDR therapy. We recognize the interconnected nature of mental health, physical health, and emotional well-being. Our team has additional training in social work, nutrition, and education to provide comprehensive mental health care.
We understand there is a lot of different jargon and therapy styles out there! Our counsellors will shape a therapeutic plan based on your needs, and if you’re interested in the detail, we can chat this through with you in simple and approachable language.
While every counsellor has an individual style, the first session will always start with discussing confidentiality and what this means in a counselling setting, along with providing your consent to receive counselling. From there, the conversation may take several different directions, depending on your current situation. Sometimes, this may involve discussing aspects of your childhood, family history, or system, while at other times, it may be more focused on a present discomfort. It’s also common to reflect on your current supports and coping tools, any previous experience with therapy (and what you did or didn’t enjoy about it). Typically, at the end of the first session, we’ll reflect on how it all felt for you before switching to “admin gear,” where we can discuss any scheduling or billing questions.
While we honour traditional therapy methods, we also believe in adapting our approach to what works best for each person. Our therapists offer individual therapy as our primary service, and can discuss couples therapy options or provide additional resources for families when needed.
We'd liked to answer some common questions we're asked!
Most health insurance companies will cover Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) or Registered Social Workers (RSW) (and we have both on our team!), and we work with many insurance providers. We encourage you to check the specific details of your insurance coverage to ensure it includes the credentials of the counsellor you would like to work with. We can help determine if we're in network with your insurance to make our services cost-effective.
We offer direct billing via Telus E-Claims. This covers many extended health insurance plans, and you can view the most up-to-date list here: https://www.telushealth.co/eclaims/insurers
Yes, we have several counsellors that are registered providers with the First Nation Health Authority (FNHA) offering support for indigenous clients. We appreciate the relevance of cultural informed therapy and have relevant training to support intergenerational trauma. We manage direct billing for our FNHA clients and these sessions are fully funded by FNHA.
Yes, we have counsellors experienced in supporting First Responders (including Doctors, Nurses, Firefighters, Paramedics and other health professionals). We also have several counsellors which are registered providers with BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) - this offers funded support for paramedics and includes direct billing.
We usually keep a credit card on file, which will be charged at the end of your session, and our booking system will automatically email your receipt, which you can use for any insurance claims. If you don’t have a credit card, please get in touch and we can arrange an alternative system.

At Inner Sphere Wellness, we believe that curiosity and playfulness can be powerful tools for healing. We're not afraid to ask tough questions, but we also know that a bit of humour and lightness can help illuminate the path forward. Our counselling style is rooted in honesty and integrity, creating a compassionate space where genuine therapeutic relationships can flourish and clients feel safe.
We have extensive training and experience supporting clients through past trauma, body image concerns, disordered eating, substance use challenges, emotional distress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, and life transitions. We also help with self-esteem concerns, emotion regulation, and developing healthy coping strategies. Our trauma-informed approach recognizes that there's no wrong time to start therapy. You don't need a crisis; maybe you keep getting tripped up by the same patterns, have old stuff lingering in the background, or just feel a quiet itch to reconnect with yourself and your feelings. That's more than enough.
While our counsellors don't treat medical conditions directly, we understand how physical and mental health are interconnected. We can provide support for the emotional aspects of living with various medical conditions and can connect you with additional resources as needed. Our team has training in understanding how physical health impacts mental health and well-being.
In the heart of Squamish, we offer both in-person therapy for those in the Squamish area and online counselling through secure video sessions for clients throughout British Columbia. We provide services through Canadian counselling standards, and our practice focuses on individual therapy while offering additional resources for families when appropriate.
Both offer different benefits, and sometimes the flexibility of both session styles can fit well for some folks! Many find virtual sessions helpful as it may be easier to fit in their schedule, or they enjoy the comfort of doing a session from their home environment. Equally, some people prefer in-person sessions as it helps them carve out an intentional time and place for a therapeutic experience.
Who We Work With - Supporting Clients Through Life's Challenges
Practical Information for Clients
Getting Started
This page is far too small to describe all the beautifully complex humans we work with! Just drop us a message sharing a bit about yourself, and we can suggest the best therapist for your specific needs and challenges.
We work with a diverse range of people from all backgrounds and walks of life, supporting clients through various life challenges and mental health concerns.
Living for the next summit, ride, or backcountry challenge? Therapy helps make sense of the internal terrain that's present on every adventure, providing coping strategies and supporting you through future challenges.
Yes, you exist, even in Squamish! Not everyone's seeking adrenaline rushes. Your quiet, interior world is just as worth exploring with a therapist who understands your unique path to well-being.
Not quite in your 20s anymore, but "middle-aged" doesn't fit either. We offer a feminist, life-stage aware approach to reclaiming this rich (often under-supported) era. Supporting clients through health concerns, hormones, menopause, and life transitions with counselling psychology approaches.
Straddling cultures, missing home, navigating a new normal and relationship challenges. Therapy can be a grounding space where you don't have to translate yourself. Whether you're bringing British dry humour or longing for deeper relationships, we get it.
Burnout, compassion fatigue, emotional labour. If you spend your life supporting clients or families, it's okay to need space to be held, too. Our therapists understand the challenges of those in helping professions.

High-pressure work, leadership stress, impostor syndrome and self-esteem concerns. Therapy helps navigate the emotional weight behind high-stakes decisions and carve out that elusive work/life balance through evidence-based treatment.
Maybe you were the Peter Pan type, seasonal work, freedom, no fixed plans. Now you want more, but you're not sure what "more" looks like in your life. We can work with that uncertainty and provide support through this transition.
Fast brains, unique wiring, quirky strengths, we get it. We help you better understand your brain, build on your strengths, and explore how this fits with relationships, work, and emotional well-being using specialized approaches and emotion regulation techniques.
We know therapy can feel unfamiliar. Our therapists offer a style that suits you, whether that's private space for deep emotional work, something more grounded and pragmatic, or support accessing feelings that aren't always easy to reach in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
Whether you're out, exploring, or somewhere in between, therapy can be a space where you don't have to explain the basics. Your identity isn't up for debate, just show up as you are, and we'll meet you with curiosity and care.
Whether you're navigating access barriers, medical gaslighting, or trying to rest without guilt, your body isn't the problem. Therapy is a place to be heard, supported, and real, no fixing required. We understand the interconnectedness of physical health and mental health.
We know therapy exists within systems shaped by colonialism. We aim to offer space rooted in respect for your lived experience, your knowledge, and your definition of healing. First Nations clients deserve culturally responsive mental health services.
