Sophie Koolen
Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) & Registered Dietitian (RD)
Sophie has a dual-credentialed Registered Dietitian (RD) & Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). In addition to her ten plus years of mental health experience, Sophie is also an EMDR trained (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Clinician. My practice focuses on addressing the intersection of mental health, nutrition and exercise, with a specialization in eating disorders, trauma, and body image healing.
Using an integrative, trauma-informed approach, I support individuals in navigating complex relationships with food, emotions, and body. My work blends evidence-based nutrition therapy with psychotherapeutic modalities such as EMDR, somatic work, and Emotion-focused family therapy approaches— all within a weight-inclusive, anti-diet, and client-centered framework.
As a mother of two, Sophie offers a supportive, collaborative space where clients feel heard and respected. Whether working with individuals or families, Sophie’s approach is centered on building trust, fostering safety, and strengthening a sense of connection—both within us and in our relationships with others.
