A New Counselling Space in Squamish: Creating a Therapy Room That Feels Safe, Human, and Real

Finding the right space for therapy took time.
Some offices felt too clinical. Some felt too small. Some simply didn’t match the energy of the work we do.
It became a bit of a Goldilocks process. We were searching for something that felt just right.
When you are talking about anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity, or life transitions, the room itself matters more than people realize. Therapy is not just about the conversation. The environment plays a powerful role in helping people feel safe enough to open up.
That is why we took our time finding a space that truly reflects the heart of InnerSphere Wellness and the kind of counselling experience we want to offer here in Squamish.
And now we have found it.
Our new counselling space is located inside the Squamish Medical Clinic at 37979 Cleveland Ave. — a location that feels calm, welcoming, and aligned with the work we do every day.
Why the Therapy Space Matters
When people imagine therapy offices, they often picture sterile rooms, fluorescent lights, and neutral beige walls.
But the reality is that the physical space can have a real impact on your nervous system.
If a room feels cold or clinical, it can make difficult conversations feel even harder. When someone is discussing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or relationship struggles, they deserve to feel grounded and supported by the environment around them.
We wanted a space that:
Feels calm and steady
Supports nervous system regulation
Encourages honest conversations
Feels private and safe
Reflects the real, human nature of therapy
Most importantly, we wanted a space that feels human.
Because therapy is not a sterile process. It is relational. It is emotional. It is about real people navigating real life.
A Space That Reflects Who We Are
At InnerSphere Wellness, our approach to counselling is grounded, relational, and authentic.
Our team supports clients through a wide range of challenges including:
Anxiety and depression
Trauma and emotional regulation
Grief and loss
ADHD and neurodivergent experiences
Relationship challenges
Identity exploration and LGBTQ2S+ affirming therapy
Life transitions and burnout
Family dynamics and parenting stress
Eating disorders, body image, and relationship with food
These conversations require trust and emotional safety.
That is why we wanted our office to reflect our culture as a practice. And full disclosure, it is not all perfectly curated neutral decor. Our space reflects our authentic InnerSphere Wellness culture.
It is warm.
It is welcoming.
It is comfortable.
There are cozy places to sit. Soft lighting. A space where you can settle in before your session and take a breath.
Because therapy should feel like a place where you can exhale, not brace yourself.
A Counselling Office Designed for Nervous System Safety
Many people come to counselling when they are already overwhelmed.
Maybe life feels heavy.Maybe relationships feel complicated.Maybe anxiety or grief has been building for a long time.
When someone walks into a therapy office, the first few moments matter.
Can they breathe a little easier?
Do they feel welcomed?
Does the space communicate “you’re safe here” before a single word is spoken?
Our new office was chosen with those moments in mind.
Clients can settle into a calm waiting area, enjoy a cup of tea, and take a moment to ground themselves before their session begins. The rooms are private and quiet, allowing space for meaningful conversations without feeling rushed or exposed.
For many clients, therapy becomes a weekly pause in the chaos of life. A place where they can slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.
That is exactly the environment we hoped to create.

Sessions are designed to meet clients where they are. Some people come for short-term support during a difficult season. Others use therapy as an ongoing space for growth, healing, and self-understanding.
There is no one-size-fits-all path in counselling.
Our approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and collaborative. That means we work with you to build a therapeutic experience that fits your goals, your pace, and your life.
A Place for Real Conversations
Therapy is often misunderstood.
It is not about being “fixed.”It is not about being judged. It is not about having someone tell you how to live your life.
At its best, counselling is a space where you can explore your experiences openly and honestly with someone trained to listen deeply and guide the process.
Sometimes therapy brings clarity.Sometimes it brings emotional release.Sometimes it helps you build tools and resilience for the future.
Often, it simply helps people feel less alone in what they are carrying.
And having the right environment to support those conversations matters more than most people realize.
