Youth Counselling Therapy
Adolescence and young adulthood can be overwhelming. Between navigating relationships, academic pressures, identity exploration, and an ever-changing world, young people and young adults face unique mental health challenges that deserve specialized support.
At Inner Sphere Wellness, our youth counselling services provide a safe, compassionate space where young clients feel safe to explore their experiences, build resilience, and develop new skills to thrive.
Supporting Young People
Through Life's Challenges
What is EMDR Therapy?
Trauma-Healing Psychotherapy Tailored for Youth

Our approach to therapy for youth recognizes that young people process experiences differently from adults. We use age-appropriate, trauma-informed therapeutic approaches (including EMDR when relevant) that help young clients safely explore and process difficult experiences. Whether they're struggling with past trauma, current stressors, anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues, our counsellors meet them where they are developmentally and emotionally.
Therapy sessions are designed to:
-
Help youth understand and process trauma and difficult experiences in a safe environment
-
Build coping strategies and emotional resilience
-
Respect their developmental stage and unique perspective
-
Create a foundation for healing that supports long-term health and wellness
Strengths-Based, Playful Exploration
Therapy isn't just about fixing what's wrong. It's about helping young clients discover and tap into their inner strengths, curiosity, and creativity. Our team uses methods that feel engaging, authentic, and natural to how young people communicate and create connections.
Our strengths-based approach focuses on:
-
Recognizing and building on existing strengths and lived experience
-
Using creative and interactive methods that resonate with youth
-
Encouraging self-discovery in a way that feels genuine, not clinical
-
Creating confidence and self-compassion
-
Creating an atmosphere where curiosity and growth are celebrated
Building Skills for a
Rapidly Changing World
Today's young people are growing up in a world that looks very different from previous generations. They're navigating social media, climate anxiety, shifting social norms, and unprecedented access to information. Our counselling services help young clients develop the emotional intelligence, self-awareness, problem-solving abilities, and practical skills they need to navigate these complexities.
We support youth and young adults as they:
-
Shape their futures and explore possibilities
-
Develop and explore their identities
-
Build healthy relationships with peers, families, and community
-
Manage anxiety, stress, low mood, and overwhelming emotions
-
Strengthen self-esteem and sense of self-worth
-
Navigate major life transitions at school, home, and in the community
Holistic Well-Being and Connection
At Inner Sphere Wellness, we understand that youth mental health can't be separated from the context of their lives. Our youth counselling considers the full picture: relationships with peers and families, emotional regulation, identity development, physical well-being, and the various systems they're part of.
We provide guidance and support for:
-
Life transitions and challenges at any age or stage
-
Anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns
-
Navigating family dynamics and peer relationships
-
Improving self-esteem and body image
-
Substance use concerns
-
Overall wellness and balance
-
Connection to community resources and referrals when helpful
Our committed team empowers young people to feel understood and more connected to themselves, to others, and to their sense of purpose and possibility.

-
Learn new coping strategies and tools for managing stress and emotions
-
Explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences

Develop problem-solving skills and healthy ways to address difficulties
We recognize that supporting youth mental health often involves families and caregivers. Our counsellors can provide guidance to parents and caregivers, helping them understand and support the young people in their lives. The Outdoor Adventurer
Living for the next summit, ride, or backcountry challenge? Therapy helps make sense of the internal terrain that's present on every adventure, supporting you through future challenges.
The Homebody
Yes, you exist — even in Squamish! Not everyone's seeking adrenaline rushes. Your quiet, interior world is just as worth exploring.
Women in the In-Between
Not quite in your 20s anymore, but "middle-aged" doesn't fit either. We offer a feminist, life-stage-aware approach to reclaiming this rich (often under-supported) era. Health, hormones, menopause, and so much more.
The Expat
Straddling cultures, missing home, navigating a new normal — therapy can be a grounding space where you don't have to translate yourself. Whether you're bringing British dry humour or longing for a deeper connection, we get it.
Caregivers, Parents & Helping Professionals
Burnout, compassion fatigue, emotional labour — if you spend your life holding others up, it's okay to need space to be held too.
First Responders
You manage high-stress, trauma-exposed roles and still have a personal life to juggle. Therapy offers a confidential space to unpack both.
Entrepreneurs & Business Folks
High-pressure work, leadership stress, impostor syndrome — therapy helps navigate the emotional weight behind high-stakes decisions and carve out that elusive work/life balance.
The "Lost Soul"
Maybe you were the Peter Pan type — seasonal work, freedom, no fixed plans. Now you want more… but you're not sure what "more" looks like. We can work with that.
The Neurospicy Crew (ADHD, Autism & Beyond)
Fast brains, unique wiring, quirky strengths — we get it. We help you better understand your brain, build on your strengths, and explore how this fits with relationships, work, and wellbeing.
Men
We know therapy can feel unfamiliar. We offer a style that suits you — whether that's private space for deep emotional work, something more grounded and pragmatic, or support accessing emotions that aren't always easy to reach.
Queer, trans, non-binary, or questioning
Whether you're out, exploring, or somewhere in between, therapy can be a space where you don't have to explain the basics. Your identity isn't up for debate — just show up as you are, and we'll meet you with curiosity and care.
Living in a body that's disabled, chronically ill, or outside the thin ideal
Whether you're navigating access barriers, medical gaslighting, or trying to rest without guilt — your body isn't the problem. Therapy is a place to be heard, supported, and real — no fixing required.
Indigenous, First Nations, and Métis
We know therapy exists within systems shaped by colonialism. Our aim is to offer space rooted in respect — for your lived experience, your knowledge, and your definition of healing.
BIPOC folks in mostly white spaces
Code-switching, cultural load, intergenerational weight — it's exhausting. Therapy can be a space where you don't have to translate or shrink your experience to fit.
